Result of a long standing research in the field of residential architecture, with a special emphasis on ecological criteria related to health used as a model of stepwise development for the reconstruction of the settlements damaged by war in Pounje area. Workshops in Zagreb and Osijek 1992, UIA, European Congress of Architects in Stockholm, Sweden – Helsinki, Finland, 1992, UIA World Congress of Architects in Chicago, USA, 1993, World Congress “Healthy Buildings” Budapest, Hungary 1994, UIA World Congress of Architects in Barcelona, Spain, 1996.
The plan emphasizes the value of traditional wooden architecture of the “Croatian ark” from the valley of the rivers Sava, Kupa and Una. Flexibility in the organization of space, optimized building through time stages in construction and use of space, the possibility of adjustment to dynamic processes in the family, natural building materials, elements of passive solar architecture, healthy housing in harmony with nature, building sustainable in time and space through the participation of users and economic cost-effectiveness are some of the features of the project.
